Jason L. Hornkohl is a Registered Patent Attorney with over 20 years of legal and technical experience protecting all aspects of clients’ intellectual property rights.  He holds a J.D. from George Washington University, where he was a Jacob Burns Scholar, and a B.S.E.E. degree, magna cum laude, from Auburn University and is a member of the Tennessee State Bar.  Jason has extensive experience in drafting and prosecuting patent and trademark applications, patent and trademark litigation, licensing, infringement and patentability analysis, due diligence, and portfolio management.

Jason has a focus on electronic, computer, semiconductor, and software technologies but has prosecuted hundreds of utility, design, and plant patents involving a wide variety of technologies such as wireless data transmissions, security and counter surveillance, frequency spectrum analysis, optics, medical devices, databanks and cellphone accessories.  He has represented clients before state courts, U.S. District Courts, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Customs, the Office of Foreign Assets Control and the International Trade Commission and been an active member of the Tennessee Intellectual Property Law Association (TIPLA) for many years. 
Jason is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and is admitted to the Supreme Court of Tennessee, U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Middle District of Tennessee and Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.
